CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2009 Club Championship final results are now published in the Results section. Sorry for the delay, but they all had to be carefully checked, including dropped scores.

Congratulations to all our Trophy Winners (marked in blue). We look forward to presenting your trophies at the Dinner on 9 January. Don't forget that there are several other trophies to be won - Best Up & Coming Cadet, Junior, Senior - Best Endeavour, etc. etc.

Details of the Dinner and a booking form are on the Club Forms page.

If anyone still has a perpetual trophy from last year, please get it back to us as a matter of urgency.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The AGM of the Club was held on Sunday 13 December at the Highwayman Inn, Syde, Gloucestershire. The Committee and Officers have been re-elected and plans are now in place for a bumper 2010.

KART MANIA SHOW

The Club had a very successful weekend at the Kart Mania Show on 28/29 November. There was lots of new interest, new memberships and many returning old friends.

1 NOVEMBER MEETING WENT AHEAD, DESPITE TORRENTIAL RAIN!

Despite over an inch of rain falling from the early hours of Sunday until about 10.00am, coupled with high winds, the Club managed to start the meeting at about 11.00 and finish by 4.45pm.

Many thanks to all Officials, Marshals and volunteers, who braved the rain and winds to make this possible.

A Race Report is in the Results section. Full results and Championship Tables will be published in the next few days.

Please note that 2010 Membership Forms, Pit Spaces Forms and details of the Annual Trophy Presentation and Dinner Dance are on the Club Forms page.

NEW EMAIL ADDRESS

The Club has now set up a new email address for the Competition / Membership Secretary on compsec@rissykartclub.com .
Please use this for any entry / membership enquiries or, alternatively, use the fax / ansaphone number on the Contacts page and Entry Forms and leave a clear message.

NEW KERBS

Members of the Committee and helpers installed some new kerbs on the circuit in August. Thanks to everyone who helped out.

A BUMPER AUGUST MEETING

The Club had 181 entries for the August meeing.

Saturday practice was interupted by a cloudburst which flooded the track! However, it stayed dry on Sunday and provided some fantastic racing conditions.

The results are on www.karting.co.uk/results and the Championship tables are now in the Results section.

The Race Report is in the Results section.

SITE CONDITIONS

Please note that the heavy snow and frost has taken its toll on the access road and, although the MoD have promised to resurface it, this will not be done in the short term. Please be aware of the 20mph site speed limit!

Please also note that most pit bays have now been sold. As there is plenty of other space available, please do not park in numbered bays, unless you have reserved them.

ANNUAL TROPHY PRESENTATION DINNER

The Annual Dinner and Trophy Presentation took place on Saturday 24 January at the Thistle Hotel, Cheltenham.

Congratulations to all our trophy winners.

KART MANIA

The Club had a stand at Kart Mania on 29/30 November and had an excellent show. Thanks to everyone who visited us. Over 40 new memberships were signed up!

LETTER TO CLUB MEMBERS

4th November 2008

Dear Rissy Member,

I write to you on behalf of the Committee to inform you of our progress with our landlords for the usage of the circuit.  We thought our battles had been won earlier this year when we achieved the Certificate of Lawful Use that proved we had been using the site since 1963, but took a terrible blow when our landlords rejected our request to use the circuit in October and November.

As you are fully aware we have been battling for over 3 years now to secure, both dates and usage of the circuit, which has been extremely frustrating and a lot of hard work, but we as a committee thought it worth fighting for.

Now for the brilliant news.  It is with great pleasure that I can write to you and confirm that we have now secured both 18 days usage from our Landlords and the 18 days Certificate of Lawful Use, which now means we are racing from March through to November.

The Committee are extremely excited with the news, and now feel they can plan for the future and offer security and stability for you the driver.

Your support during 2008 has been extremely valued, so a very big thank you from everyone on the Committee, we hope to see you again next year.

Yours faithfully

Debbie Mayow
Club Secretary

GENERAL NEWS

Saturday practice costs £25 for members and £30 for non-members. Good value for 7 or 8 sessions!

Race Entries are £45 for members and £55 for non-members (excluding Midland Champs).

Starting Karting packs and ARKS Tests are available through the Club.

The Club would particularly like to thank all marshalls and officials who often braced attrocious conditions to allow practice and racing to take place. Indeed, without the help of these volunteers throughout the season, racing would not take place at all! If anyone is interested in marshalling for the new season, please contact the Club Secretary (details on Contacts page).

PIT SPACES

A few pit spaces can be booked for the weekend. Phone Pete Klaassen on 01926 850397 .
